THE BLUE GUARDS
The Imperial Guard Corps, also known as the Blue Guards, are the elite forces of the Imperial Army, created to defend the monarchs of the Empire, specifically His Imperial Majesty the Emperor, Constantine IX, as well as his capital, Sarholm. The Blue Guards are split into four Battalions, most claiming descent from some of the oldest units in the entire Empire.

The No.1 Guards (the Grenadier Guards) are the first battalion of Guards. They claim descent from the 6th Guards Division – nicknamed the “Sword of the Emperor”. This unit was raised in 2016 during the first iteration of the Empire, where they lasted for a month before being disbanded on the 28th of August. They participated in battles such as Battle of Modena, the Red Wedding, Seventh Battle of York, and the Second Battle of Swamp. Their motto is “Terror Belli, Decus Pacis” translated as “Terror in war, ornament in peace.”

The No.2 Guards (the Grenadier Guards) are the second battalion of Guards, and the first Lusophone battalion. They claim descent from the Life Guards – the first guards of Emperor Constantine VI. This unit was raised in late 2017 to fight in the Second Great War for two months before being disbanded. Their battle honours include The Second Great War, Second Battle of Preuze, the Siege of Sarholm and more. Their motto is “Droit au But“, translated as ‘straight to the point’, which shows their readiness to get in the fight.

NO.4 LANCER GUARDS (LUSÓFONO)
The No.4 Guards (the Lancer Guards) are the fourth battalion of Guards, and the third Lusophone battalion. They are the newest of all the battalions, being the only one initially formed during the reign of Constantine IX. Throughout his reign, the Emperor had wanted to form a new Guard battalion, and though many new regiments were formed, he never had the chance until the Lancer Guards were formed alongside the new Lancers Regiment. Its motto is “Impetu hostem perterreo“, translated as ‘our attack terrifies the enemy’.
