When one joins the Imperial Sarovian Armed Forces, you have several paths to join, and your skills, qualification and ambition will influence your entry to the Army and the path you take. After finishing Basic Training and swearing an oath of loyalty to the Sovereign and acknowledging military law, in both the Imperial Sarovian Army (Armerita Imperial Saroviano) and the Imperial Sarovian Navy (Nave Imperial Saroviano) you have two options – to ENLIST or to COMMISSION.
Enlisting in the Imperial Army or Navy
Enlisting is how most members join. In order to enlist, you can simply message any member of the Imperial Army or Navy, preferably through an Officer, and request to join. There are no current general requirements to join the Imperial Army, though some Regiments may have individual requirements. Candidates for the Imperial Navy must also be present in Estos, or GraalOnline Classic.
When you enlist in the Army, you will be ranked as a Fleche and when you finish our Basic Training you will graduate as a Soldat, Gardo, Avenizo, or Lancier depending on what Regiment you are in. You will then attend either Infantry or Cavalry School in order to learn advanced skills and become a junior leader, where afterwards you are eligible to take your Junior Leadership Course.
When you enlist in the Navy, you will be ranked as a Fleche and when you finish our Basic Training you will graduate as a Navizo and depending on what Ship you are in, potentially higher. You will then attend Naval School in order to learn advanced skills and become a junior leader in your ship, where afterwards you are eligible to take your Junior Leadership Course.
Enlisting in the Imperial Army or Navy
Commissioning in the Imperial Army or Navy is how ordinary members become Army or Navy Officers and attain leadership roles over other soldiers, such as becoming the commander of a Regiment or Ship. In order to commission, you need to obtain a degree from the Imperial Military College or Wolfwater Naval Academy, the Empire’s main staff colleges. To enter either College you must in turn meet the following requirements:
- Pass the Officer and Leadership Aptitude Exam (OLAE) after graduating from Basic Training;
- Be recommended for enrollment by another Officer; and
- Have the funds to acquire the necessary uniforms if you do not have them already.
If you do not pass the exam, don’t worry! You are able to retake the exam twice per year.
