Employment in the Civil Service

The Civil Service is the eyes, ears, and arms of the Sarovian Government. On an ad-hoc basis, New Sarovia has always maintained a variety of public offices closely resembling a modern and effective Civil Service, but only with the passage of the Civil Service Act of 302 AS was it formalized, modernized, and expanded.

The Civil Service, or in High Sarovian, tel Sevis Civil eui Seito Majis Imperial, interprets the orders and executive decisions of the Sovereign and His Government and implements them. The Civil Service is politically neutral, with only Ministers supervising each department engaging in partisan politics. Civil Servants below that rank serve whichever government is in office at the time, as permanent bureaucrats. Accordingly, all Civil Servants swear the Oath of Allegiance to the Crown are required to possess lawful Sarovian citizenship.

The overall Head of the Civil Service is the Ministoro eui Sevis, or Minister of Services. The Services Ministry is responsible for approving appointments to positions of authority within the bureaucracy, overseeing bureaucratic operations – especially as it relates to minor tasks – and, most importantly to this page, recruiting new members.

Joining the Civil Service is extremely easy. There is no formal application process – simply send a message to the incumbent Ministoro eui Sevis or the Services Undersecretary. You can approach other Ministers and Undersecretaries as well; they will redirect you to the Ministry of Services. Once the official conversation has begun, you will then be asked what your interests are personally, which will help the Minister or Undersecretary gauge where you might fit best.

Once the Minister or Undersecretary has a good idea where your ideal position might be, you will be shown the Civil Service Almanac. It is highly recommended to read the Almanac before approaching the Minister or Undersecretary, but not required, as they will show it to you. The Almanac is an exhaustive list of most Civil Service positions, with the exception of the Ministe eui tel Provencos. This ministry only has one member – the Minister themself. After receiving the Almanac, simply find a position that interests you; you will be introduced to the position and sworn in with the oath!
