The Imperial Sarovian Armed Forces (ISAF) are the military forces responsible for the defense of New Sarovia and the Commonwealth. They also promote the broader interests of New Sarovia and support international peacekeeping efforts. The Imperial Sarovian Armed Forces also holds the distinction of being the largest employer in the Commonwealth, possessing roughly 300 members. This means that 1/4 of all Sarovians are members of the Imperial Sarovian Armed Forces in some capacity.
The Imperial Sarovian Armed Forces has two branches – the Imperial Army and the Imperial Navy. The Imperial Army is tasked with guarding the Sarovian homeland on the continent of Estos, while the Imperial Navy is tasked with projecting Sarovian strength across the seas, in continents such as Ostos, Orios, and beyond. The Commander-in-Chief of the Imperial Sarovian Armed Forces is Tel Majis Imperialò, Royo y Imperad Carolus XIII, as per the Constitution and the National Defense Act of 2020.
